And if you\u2019re scratching your head, wondering what presents to buy, I\u2019m here to help with <em>A Bilby\u2019s Christmas Gift Guide<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>For the ones you love the most, how about:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mealworms.<\/li>\n<li>Locusts.<\/li>\n<li>And maybe some sweet potato?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I\u2019ve no idea how to wrap them. But never mind!<\/p>\n<p>These three nutritious treats are what our long-eared, furry marsupial friends want in their stockings, and <a href=\"https:\/\/donations.savethebilbyfund.org.au\/christmas-appeal-2024\/donate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">with your help,<\/a> that\u2019s exactly what they\u2019ll get!<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s because <a style=\"font-size: 16px; background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/donations.savethebilbyfund.org.au\/christmas-appeal-2024\/donate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><u>when you donate, you\u2019ll have the chance to vote on which tasty treat we will give them as a gift<\/u><\/a> on Christmas Day!<\/p>\n<h6>But bilbies have another wish, and that\u2019s to survive in this increasingly hostile world.<\/h6>\n<p>For around 20 million years, these tough little battlers have dug their burrows in this land and made it their own. They\u2019re an essential part of keeping the outback thriving, moving several tonnes of soil each year. As they dig, they spread spores and seeds and give shelter to many other creatures.<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re perfectly adapted to desert conditions, and the sweltering heat of Christmas doesn\u2019t bother them one bit \u2013 a perk of being nocturnal.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/savethebilbyfund.org.au\/26\/about-bilbies\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">They\u2019re amazing.<\/a> I love \u2018em. And it means everything to me that you do too, because Bilbies won\u2019t survive unless we work together to save them.<\/p>\n<h6><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/donations.savethebilbyfund.org.au\/christmas-appeal-2024\/donate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here to help grant all our bilbies\u2019 Christmas wishes.<\/a><\/strong><\/h6>\n<p>You already know there\u2019s a great way to show your support for bilbies at Easter, but they also need our help at Christmas and all year round as they battle to survive. Our goal is to have an insurance population of 10,000 bilbies in managed sanctuaries and for wild bilby populations to proliferate once again.\u00a0After you\u2019ve donated, choose which treat you want the cute little Charleville bilbies to receive this Christmas \u2013 mealworms, locusts or sweet potatoes.
