Thank You: You Helped Protect Bilbies Beyond the Fence

We did it!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters, we have raised the funds needed to extend the lease of our Felixer units. This means these vital predator-control tools can continue operating at Currawinya National Park, helping protect bilbies as we prepare to release them beyond the predator-proof fence.

This is a huge milestone for greater bilby conservation — and it would not have been possible without you.

A Safer Future for Bilbies

Bilbies have been safe inside our predator-proof sanctuary, where their population has grown into a remarkable conservation success. But to give them a future in the wild, we must carefully expand their protected habitat and establish new populations beyond the fence.

Feral cats are one of the greatest threats facing bilbies once they move into the broader landscape. The Felixers provide targeted, around-the-clock predator management, helping our small on-ground team protect bilbies across the vast release area.

With the lease extended, we can continue preparing for this historic conservation step and give released bilbies the best possible chance to survive and thrive in the wild.

Your Support Made It Possible

Every donation helped bring us closer to our goal. Whether you gave generously, shared our appeal, told a friend about the campaign, or supported our work in another way, you played an important part in this achievement.

Fundraising campaigns like this remind us what can happen when a community comes together for a species that cannot protect itself.

Because of you:

  • The Felixer lease can be extended.
  • Predator management can continue in bilby habitat.
  • Our team can keep preparing for bilby releases beyond the fence.
  • Bilbies will have greater protection as they take their next steps into the wild.

Thank You for Standing with Bilbies

We know many causes are competing for your support, and we are deeply grateful that you chose to stand with the greater bilby.

The journey to return bilbies to the wild has taken years of careful planning, expert conservation work, and determination. Your support has helped us reach another important step along that journey.

We will continue to keep you updated as this work progresses. For now, we simply want to say:

Thank you for helping protect bilbies beyond the fence — and for helping secure their future in the wild.

Together, we are giving these extraordinary little Australian battlers a fighting chance.
