Can you gift wrap a worm?

Christmas is getting closer. And if you’re scratching your head, wondering what presents to buy, I’m here to help with A Bilby’s Christmas Gift Guide.

For the ones you love the most, how about:

Mealworms.

Locusts.

And maybe some sweet potato?

I’ve no idea how to wrap them. But never mind!

These three nutritious treats are what our long-eared, furry marsupial friends want in their stockings, and with your help, that’s exactly what they’ll get!

That’s because when you donate, you’ll have the chance to vote on which tasty treat we will give them as a gift on Christmas Day!

But bilbies have another wish, and that’s to survive in this increasingly hostile world.

For around 20 million years, these tough little battlers have dug their burrows in this land and made it their own. They’re an essential part of keeping the outback thriving, moving several tonnes of soil each year. As they dig, they spread spores and seeds and give shelter to many other creatures.

They’re perfectly adapted to desert conditions, and the sweltering heat of Christmas doesn’t bother them one bit – a perk of being nocturnal.

They’re amazing. I love ‘em. And it means everything to me that you do too, because Bilbies won’t survive unless we work together to save them.

You already know there’s a great way to show your support for bilbies at Easter, but they also need our help at Christmas and all year round as they battle to survive. Our goal is to have an insurance population of 10,000 bilbies in managed sanctuaries and for wild bilby populations to proliferate once again.

After you’ve donated, choose which treat you want the cute little Charleville bilbies to receive this Christmas – mealworms, locusts or sweet potatoes. Then watch out for a video of our furry friends in Charleville tucking into their treat over the festive period.

Thanks so much for your support.
